Barclays Premier League
Barclays sponsorship of the Barclays Premier League began in 2001 and currently runs until May 2013. The league is the highest football division in England, pitting the top 20 football teams against each other over the course of a season, which runs from August to May.

The Barclays Premier League reaches more than 500 million homes worldwide in over 200 countries and is described as the most exciting football league in the world.

Barclays is committed to bringing fans closer to football with initiatives such as Barclays Ticket Office, where fans in the UK can win Barclays Premier League tickets every 90 minutes, every day.

The Barclays Premier League Trophy has also visited fans in over 20 countries.

Additionally, Asian fans were able to get closer to the action with the Barclays Asia Trophy, a bi-annual pre-season tournament which took place at the Hong Kong Stadium in July 2011.

The four teams competing were Chelsea, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers and the 2010/11 champions of the Hong Kong First Division League, Kitchee. The Barclays Asia Trophy Hong Kong 2011 is the fifth Asia Trophy, previous tournaments have taken place in Hong Kong and Beijing.

Since 2004, Barclays has been the title sponsor of The Barclays, the first PGA TOUR Playoff event for the FedExCup. In 2011, The Barclays will be played at Plainfield Country Club, in Edison, New Jersey, from 25 to 28 August.

Barclays has been the title sponsor of The Barclays Singapore Open since 2005. The 2011 Barclays Singapore Open will be played 10-13 November at the Sentosa Golf Club, one of Asia's most prestigious courses.

The Barclays Center

The 675,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue will be home to the professional basketball team the Brooklyn Nets. For the first time since the Dodgers left in 1957, Brooklyn will have a major league sports team to call its own. Scheduled to open in September 2012, Barclays Center will play host to some of the most exciting sports and entertainment events in the world: concerts, fine arts performances, circuses, college basketball games, ice shows, music award shows and more. Some of the special programming that is already scheduled includes JAY Z, Andrea Bocelli, NY Islanders preseason hockey, several men’s college basketball tournament including Barclays Center Classic, Atlantic 10, Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, and Legends Classic, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice, Championship Boxing and the New York Masters equestrian show jumping.

Barclays Center will be a community centerpiece for the borough, working with local organizations to ensure the venue is an integral part of the community, where local college and high school athletes will have a new stage to showcase their skills. Barclays Center will also host thousands of proud families and friends for college and high school graduations.

London Cycle Schemes

Barclays is the sponsor of Barclays Cycle Hire and Barclays Cycle Superhighways. These flagship schemes provide the public with a low-cost, sustainable and environmentally friendly way of getting around the capital.

Barclays Cycle Hire:

• Will provide 6,000 cycles and 400 docking stations in London's zone one.
• The public are able to hire bikes for short journeys throughout central London, with each half hour journey being free once they have paid their registration fee.

Barclays Cycle Superhighways:

• Clearly marked cycles routes designed to make it quicker, easier and safer for Londoners to commute by bicycle between outer and inner London.
• Two pilot routes were launched in July 2010, CS7 Merton to the City and CS3 Barking to Tower Gateway.
• A further 10 routes are proposed over the next five years, which will run through 25 London boroughs.
The sponsorships bring the Barclays brand to London - an iconic city and one in which Barclays has its global headquarters - in an eye catching and innovative way.

Investment in cycling is important for London's economy and to London's business community. More cyclists on London's roads will help to create a more friendly and attractive city with more pleasant shared spaces.
